Bionic Hand and Human Hand Finger Pointing

Artificial Intelligence

Tool, Challenge & Opportunity

I have called the technology sector my professional home for over two decades. Stations at companies such as 7 layers AG — with projects in Asia, North America, and Europe — as well as ALSO Holding AG, headquartered in Switzerland, have shaped my career. During this time, I gained international experience and actively contributed to digital transformation across various fields.

Additionally, I worked as a press officer for digital media, managing communication and learning how crucial it is to convey technological developments clearly and purposefully — both internally and externally.

Today, I engage intensively with Artificial Intelligence (AI). It’s long been more than a distant vision — it’s reality. I deliberately use AI as a tool even when building my new website: it supports me in structuring content and developing ideas. But technology is only ever as good as the human using it. My many years of experience enable me to critically evaluate, adjust, and ensure that everything fits in the end.

Of course, technological change raises questions—especially about the future of jobs. But this debate is not new. The Industrial Revolution in the 18th century already displaced old professions while creating new ones. Change has always been part of progress. Viewing it only negatively is therefore far too short-sighted.

At 55 years old, I’m not always challenged professionally in every context as much as I’d like — but my curiosity remains boundless. For me, it goes without saying that I still engage with innovative technologies today and seek to understand new developments.

That’s me, Mario Obst.

I am one of 8.142 billion people (as of 2024) – and each of us has the possibility to co-shape the future. Artificial Intelligence doesn’t replace humans; it extends their possibilities. If used correctly, it opens up opportunities to better utilize knowledge, explore new paths, and re-ignite creativity.
